Physio-Modalities

Physio modalities is considered a treatment method addressing the problems and healing of disabilities and injuries. This type of treatment basically focuses primarily, but not solely, on movement associated with injury, restoring function, promoting healing and pain relief. Other areas within physio modalities are ergonomic (body mechanics) training, fitness/ wellness, and especially education and prevention.

Why Physio Modalities?

Well, Physio modalities is a degree-based healthcare profession that uses the skills and knowledge of physios to treat an injury a patient has. It generally provides relief from muscle weakness, stress and helps in regaining a range of motion and/or movement while correcting proper posture.

Our physio modalities treatment plans include either passive or active therapies.

Passive Modalities: Treatment that does not require patient participation, such as spinal manipulation, myofascial release, TENS, Ice/Heat therapy, cold laser or ultrasound.

Active Modalities: Therapeutic exercise to increase flexibility, build strength, endurance, cold laser and PNF.

With any musculoskeletal injury, comprehending the cause of the condition is vital. Thus, our specialists follow a detailed evaluation to know the root cause of the problem and plan a treatment to correct the condition of the patient while preventing the future re-occurrences of the condition.

What Is Cold Laser

Cold Laser is also known as LLLT or Low Level Laser Therapy that applies low-level lasers to treat a patient. It also uses the frequency of coherent light and a wavelength of light emitted from a low-wattage therapeutic laser to activate the cells of the patient’s body to improve the healing process.

Well, the use of therapeutic laser is not a new concept on the market. They have been used since 1967 to stimulate healing in many patients. This type of treatment doesn’t require any surgical incision, thus it is also known as a non-invasive procedure. Plus, it does not involve any drugs or medication.

Many medical specialists also use this method to treat muscle injuries or bruises along with many neurological injuries including ruptured discs or herniated. Chiropractors at Chiropractic Wellness Center use Cold Laser technique to improve patient’s range of motion and to strengthen the weak muscle tissues.

Cold Laser has been proven to be an effective treatment in curing inflammatory problems such as bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis. This also speeds up the healing of connective tissue disorders like tendinitis, strains, and sprains, and has also proven to be effective in managing or reducing acute or chronic pain in the lower back, thoracic regions and neck.
